Description Photo of the Arechi II Representation Room. Interior of the Palatine Chapel (Hall) Church of San Pietro a corte. 
  1.  Abside ed a sinistra parete settentrionale in muratura longobarda ed a destra parete meridionale con ricostruzione dell'aspetto barocco. Vi era la porta murata nel Settecento che in origine poneva in comunicazione il palazzo con la cappella. Apse and on the left northern wall in Lombard masonry and on the right southern wall with reconstruction of the Baroque aspect. There was the walled door in the eighteenth century which originally put the building in communication with the chapel.
  2. Sul soffitto la tela dipinta raffigurante la “Gloria della Vergine” realizzata negli anni tra 1740-1750 da Filippo Pennino.  On the ceiling the painted canvas depicting the "Glory of the Virgin" made in the years between 1740-1750 by Filippo Pennino.

  4. San Pietro a Corte - Cappella Palatina - La parete nord era l’unica da cui la sala poteva prendere luce diurna. Lungo il versante settentrionale vennero aperte finestre monofore e bifore, disposte su due livelli, che consentivano l’illuminazione interna della sala.. The north wall was the only one from which the hall could take daylight. Along the northern side windows were opened single and double bifore, arranged on two levels, which allowed the interior lighting of the hall
  5. Parete Ovest con aperture verso l'esterno ancora chiuse dai riempimenti e dalle tamponature.  West wall with openings to the outside still closed by the infills and cladding 
  6. Parete Ovest-Nord con aperture verso l'esterno ancora chiuse dai riempimenti e dalle tamponature.  -  West-Nord wall with openings to the outside still closed by the infills and cladding.
  7.  La parete nord era l’unica da cui la sala poteva prendere luce diurna. Sul lato nord della il principe Guaimario II fece costruire, nel 920 come testimonia il Chronicon Salernitanum, un campanile che ora è apparentemente sproporzionato rispetto alla chiesa, la sua altezza (più bassa della Cappella) fu dovuta a un cedimento delle fondamenta avvenuta in fase di costruzione o ad un terremoto. Scavi recenti hanno fatto ipotizzare che l’attuale campanile sia di epoca successiva al X secolo  -  On the northern side of the building Prince Guaimario II built in 920 as evidenced by the Chronicon Salernitanum, a bell tower which is now apparently out of proportion to church, its height (the lower of the Chapel) was due to a collapse of the foundations which occurred during construction or an earthquake.   14. Altro elemento di collegamento con il mondo classico è dato dal pavimento in mosaico, del quale sono state rinvenute numerose tessere o pezzetti, che restituiscono un litostroto realizzato in opus sectile. San Pietro a Corte - Cappella Palatina - Antica pavimentazione dell'aula in "opus sectile" policromo.  -  Another element of connection with the classical world is given by the mosaic floor, of which numerous tesserae or pieces have been found, which return a lithostrote made of opus sectile.   16. La chiesa fu poi abbellita con la tavola lignea collocata sull’altare centrale. la tavpòa fu realizzata nel 1592 dal pittore Decio Tramontano e mostra i Santi Ciro, Giovanni Crisostomo, Pietro e Paolo che presentano alla Vergine e al Bambino Gesù. -  The church was then embellished with the wooden table placed on the central altar. the panel was created in 1592 by the painter Decio Tramontano and shows Saints Cyrus, John Chrysostom, Peter and Paul presenting the Virgin and Child Jesus to the Virgin.
